How do classes work?
HP Online classes are offered online and are accessible from any computer with
an Internet connection. Classes include four to eight lessons and may also include quizzes
and assignments. These classes have a start and end date, and the class lessons post one at
a time between those two dates. The first lesson of each class is available on the class
start date, and the remaining lessons post twice a week until all lessons have been posted.
Once a lesson has posted, it remains available on our site 24/7 until the class end date, and
the class ends about two weeks after the last lesson has posted. Although class lessons post
one at a time, you can review all posted lessons at your own pace and at any time of the day.
During an active class session, you may interact with your fellow students and your instructor
via the class Message Board.
Where can I find a complete listing of the available classes?
The HP Online classes home page lists all of the classes with active sessions in which you can enroll. To learn more about a class:
- Click Online classes in the left navigation to go to the main class listing page.
- Click on the class title you are interested in to get an overview of the class that includes a class description, the instructor's objectives for the class, the start and end dates for all available class sessions.
Where do the classes take place?
Classes take place online and are accessible from any computer with Internet access. The lessons post twice a
week beginning on the class start date. Once a class has started, you are free to complete any posted lessons
when it is convenient for you. Just be sure to complete your lessons before the posted end date.
How much do classes cost?
HP Online classes are free of charge and accessible online from any computer with
an Internet connection.
What is the advantage of taking an online class instead of a regular class or even buying a book to learn more?
Like a traditional class, an online class uses a collection of lessons, assignments, and quizzes to help you learn, as well as an instructor to guide your learning, but it is up to you to determine the time and place you attend class. You can take an online class when it is convenient for you, rather than organizing your schedule around class time. You also get personalized feedback from the instructor and the opportunity to chat with other students to gain more insight and information about the subjects that interest you.
